I’d like to loose interest too, but…it’s like a terrible accident unfolding in slow-motion. You want to look away but you just can’t.

The the big backers, aka. the High Lords of Ultima, are going to ruin that game with their behavior and demands. It’ll be sad but I kind of want to see that house of cards fall. I believe that’s what the future holds for Portalarium as long as they cater to the crowd they’ve collected and continue to prostitute themselves out to these lonely, bitter old nerds. As long as the High Lords keep back-seat driving and the company keeps kissing their ass, nothing good can grow.

The future of SoTA is doomed, and we will witness the fall.

*Anyways thanks for inviting me over, friend.
I always enjoy your postings, even when I disagree. You’re alright by me, brother.

      insanemembrain responded:

Yeah Portalarium really needs to review a lot of their processes before they get much further.

They alienate a lot of people by how they do things with those backers. Actually if they keep going the way they are going now, they are going to drive a wedge into those high lords as well as at the moment they are simply picking favs.

      It is very unprofessional.

I am banned now though, so you won’t see me on the forum as InsaneMembrane. Rest assured, I will still be around though posting under yet another pseudonym πŸ˜›

It’s messed up, that’s for sure. Sorry to hear about your incident, there are plenty of anuses around who don’t like getting their fur rubbed the wrong way, just a matter of time before they drive off customers or get the stubborn ones deleted.

You are totally right, it is unprofessional, and I really don’t think it’s going to work out at this rate. I think they’ve gone too far to pull out with their promises and letting people get out of control.

The day will come when we we’ll have a weenie roast over the coals of the High Lords’ smoldering dreams.

Plenty of anuses for sure. Don’t be sorry for me, I am logged in browsing right now, deciding on my new personality. I suppose this is the only “RP” that I ever do, lawl.

Yeah can’t wait to get in game and make life miserable for some of those “High Lords” or “The Barons” group πŸ˜›

As always, thanks for your comments BillRoy!

Hey, friend, it’s been a while since your ban, just wondering if you were still checking in on the forums once in a while?

Things continue to spiral in the same direction.

I’m hoping your ban doesn’t extend into the alpha/beta phase of the game, it will be glorious to see all of the HighLords in their paid for heraldick splendor. SoTA is going to be just like the old-days when rank and social status could be bought, RG/LB is bringing back the twisted ways of the dark past…vile things that we in the western world thought we left behind long ago (ideally anyways).

ps. I got w warning from FL for saying “heraldick”…I was just trying to be supportive of the special/preferential treatment that is so well deserved by The HighLords of Ultima.

Oh I am certainly keeping up to date on SotA. However, there is too much bullshit going on there for even me to keep track of now days, especially after that 6month demo and combat system… WOW.

hehehe, I dont think they will ever unban me. They were really pissed at me for taking screenshots of their site. Dont know why.

Well, If you have nothing to hide or be ashamed of you shouldn’t get upset if someone takes a picture to show…especially if anyone could go directly to the source to see the action first hand.

I saw a guy who looked like you over at at MMORPG, I go there occasionally looking at games I play. Never bothered checking the SoTA page until today when I remembered some SoTAer saying the mean kids ran him off for defending the honor of some astronot or something.
If they knew or cared about Virtue or anything like that I’d think they would have you back after a short, temporary exile for a little naughty behavior, especially considering your work on their behalf over there.

The demo didn’t do them any favors, not in the eyes of their investors, accept for the hard-core apologists, and I don’t think is going to lure many new investors. It was like watching an advertisement from a real estate company…which is all SoTA seems to be at this point…

I don’t quite understand why anyone would enjoy creating negative PR toward any development team. Especially a team like Portalarium, with devs who go extra lengths to communicate far more than I’ve ever seen any team EVER.
As a SotA backer, I disagree with your entire purpose of this forum, and you should be ashamed of yourselves for slander and negative statements.
Personally, I’ve been constructively critical to on their forum (I wanted the original map idea) and they responded very professionally. They adjusted the design, and they are completely open with their design decisions daily…just so backers like me can have our voices heard. I think it’s awesome how the team communicates with the community…it’s just unfortunate that they have to deal with mean-spirited forum trolls who waste their time trying to think of clever negative posts (that don’t usually sound clever, just ugly)

Sorry to pop your bubble, but I think the game and their dev process is really cool. SotA rocks!!!

      insanemembrain responded:

Thanks for taking the time to comment 3DGamer68! I don’t have much in opposition to what you have said here to say myself. Surprised?

I wish SotA well! I don’t really have much of an issue with the Devs, except I do think that Founder status has not lived up to expectations(not really their fault though) and I do wish they had a proper mechanism for submission of content from the community. If SotA is to represent the community in which helps build it, shouldn’t those community members be of the utmost of high standings?

You don’t want racist members submitting art, you don’t want angry moderators removing posts.

I believe the vast majority of my negative press is aimed directly towards the community management at this point, not the Devs creating the game. It is too early in the process to attack the game design plans and execution, it is not even Alpha yet yo!

Hi Insane. Always respect hardline positions. Even so i do not agree with most of them. But if you had a own product you would create and a own forum to talk about it.
What rules would you do. What would you expect from moderators. When should they interfere.
Would you tolerate every opinion , would you tell the moderators to draw a line?

    Would you moderate all yourself.

I was a little frustrated about some postings currently in the SotA Forums

The Look at me! They have treated med so bad. I am a poor innocent , nice Angel. I have always , and never told a bad word in my live in the forums. I always am a shining spirit, i never throw the first stone.

But now… i have to cry out to the world: They have thrown me to the tigers..

I mean come one… i can just overexagerate this side as some do overexagerate the moderators.

I did overexagerate of course now. Not how the complains are. But a extrem example.

But between your world on this wordpress site and many happy customers happy with the forum, there is a world inbetween.

I always miss the discussion on this.

I do remember us having a long, long discussion the day i did complain about PK and my cousin. Remember?
We did end having a nice , still with hard opinions, but good discussion at the end.

Thats the insane i would have loved in the Forums. But instead you always need to search for the next big “Moderator scandal”

Would love if you take a break from it and focus on the other powers you could have provided.
Beeing a great source to talk about many ingame aspects that would have come.

Greetings Myrcello, yes, I do remember our conversation and in the end I think we ended up having a mutual respect for one another’s opinions. That time, our conversation was allowed to play out, rather than having it unduly moderated.

Until I had my own product which required a forum, I couldn’t answer your question from that angle. But if you were asking, if I was involved in SotA what would I do? That would be a different question. Rules. They need better rules for the community. Not only do they need better rules for moderators, but they need moderators who are not actually taking part in the community, they need totally impartial staff, paid, to moderate the forum. Plenty of cheap services for things like this and I believe it would be much more effective.

I don’t so much search for scandals really, a lot of people are sending them to me now. There are other blogs out there also besides mine which are critical of Portalarium. Not because of me, but due to their own attitudes towards things.

      Could have easily been prevented.

    Mystic
    Okay, I require creative assistance
    10:00:23Mystic
I owe my neighbour, who happens to be a complete troll, $146. I need to find a creative way to give it to him that won’t anger my bank cause we use the same one.
    10:00:44Mystic
I thought about giving him all dollar coins but I think that would make the bank tellers really mad. πŸ˜›
    10:01:50Mystic
Hmm, maybe I could write him a check and send it certified (he lives next door and works during the day)
    10:01:53GamerQuest
    $146 $1 money orders
    10:02:01Mystic
He’s have to go to the post office to sign for it
    10:02:47Mystic
Or I could just send it through paypal and make him wait another week to get it. πŸ˜›
    10:03:10Mystic
Nah, this is going towards his medical bills so I can’t be TOO mean
    10:06:10Joviex_w
or, just a thought, you just pay him.
    10:06:17Mystic
    No fun in that
    10:06:31Mystic
    Lemme put it this way
    10:06:34Joviex_w
guess its ok we do stuff like that on the forums then eh?
    10:06:44Mystic
Actually, lemme show you what his dad did to him this past christmas
    10:09:00Mystic
Can’t find the one from last Christmas… here is the one from previous Christmas https://i.imgur.com/U6ITw.jpg
    10:09:36Mystic
Last Christmas his dad gave him money towards a new computer. $1 bills taped end to end. Like $150 of them. Plus a couple $50s and $20s also taped in.
    10:09:55Mystic
Bank almost wouldn’t accept it cause they all had tape on the ends when he finally cut them
    10:18:59GamerQuest
This would take alittle work but if you have any rubber bands around the office you could do the following. Write him a check and start putting rubber bands around it till you have a rubber band ball. Hand him the ball and say here is the money i owe ya!
    10:19:34Mystic
Ooooo interesting idea. Might have to put the check inside a little plastic tube to keep it from being mangled.
    10:19:48Mystic
Or better yet, don’t put the check in and just hand him the ball
    10:19:49GamerQuest
    ya, fold the check haha
    10:20:00Mystic
Then when he gets it all done, I’ll give him the check after
    10:20:25Mystic
“You can have it back when I get all my rubber bands back” πŸ˜‰
    10:22:05Bubonic
how did u come to owe him money in the first place
    10:22:34Mystic
He gave me M:TG cards to sell at the shop in the city since I was selling some there as well
    10:23:40Bubonic
personally, since he gave u an item to sell for him in good faith, i would just give him the cash, troll or not πŸ˜‰

Yes. They are deleting all of my posts. Pricks. I have gone a different route, lets see how far I get sucking their dicks instead:

Dear wonderful massivly readers and great author of this post.

I would like to inform you that the game Shroud of the Avatar, as totally awesome as it is already and will be when released, is not actually an MMO. Shroud of the Avatar executive Starr Long has classified this game as an SMO, here is that information:

      https://www.shroudoftheavatar.com/forum/index.php?threads/massively-poll-for-most-anticipated-mmos-even-though-we-are-smo.18634/

This leaves me to wonder, why it is in this poll? Do massively and massively’s readers classify Shroud of the Avatar as something other than an SMO? If so, what would those reasons be?

I beg your input massively, this is such a great and the most smartest community on the internet.

After an extensive evaluation and the results have been compiled, it is 100% confirmed that Insane is infact not a gamer but really an extreme sensitive carebear. Judging by his internet footprint this try hard is merely seeking attention by using lazy casual unthoughtful internet tactics like this blog, accomplishing absolutely nothing to contribute to aid the persona that he claims to be.
Now that he has a few loyal trolls that are dumb enough to buy into his bad boy show, he has now began to do one of the exact same things that his blog pretends to stand against and that is suppressing the voice of the average person. After Insane got emotionally defeated, which honestly did not take much to push someone so weak minded to that point. he decided to set restrictions to his website and started heavily moderating peoples opinions. So is Insane the new Firelotus? maybe they have become friends judging by his casual methods of late. Isn’t it fantastic what a little patients and a few psychological mind games will reveal? I wonder if he really feels self accomplished with his work knowing that the majority of people that have gave him any attention are merely mad casual fanboys that are incapable of doing anything other than being over dramatic by talking about useless nonsense. People that are never willing to actually take action and much prefer to just pretend that they stand for a cause. If only people like Insane and his troll followers could use the abundance of free time they obviously have to actually stand against bullshit instead of creating a new soap opera version of it, they might of got some where. People like this aren’t knowledgeable enough to realize what it actually takes to actually accomplish something like this in a given period of time, maybe that’s why Insane turtle’d up?

SOME Scientific results are revealed here as follows. Scale of 1 – 10 Bad – Good.

    Mental toughness: 1/10
    Sensitivity: 2/10
    Process of thought: 2/10
    Creativity displayed: 2/10
Try hard to be creative: 8/10
    Observational Awareness: 1/10
    Bait avoidance: 2/10
    Easily distracted: 7/10
Able to stick to objective: 1/10
Shown care to see objective through: 1/10
    Attention seeking attempts: 10/10
Following other casuals trends multiplier: 7/10
    Gaming knowledge: 2/10
Try hard pretending to be a gamer: 7/10
    Overall accomplishment: 1/10
    Try hard to accomplishment: 8/10
    Time to defeat: 3/10
Worth to the cause of standing against bullshit. 0/10
    Fake persona chance: 10/10

This evaluation is still underway and will continue within Insane’s group of mad casuals. It will be interesting to evaluate his paranoid level now that this has been revealed and he tries to figure out the puzzle.
